For the third year in a row, PSRI has taken First Place in the annual Multi-screen competition! This year, we tied for first place with Fall River Camera Club. Congratulations to all four clubs, the images were excellent! Kudos to all participants, and a big congratulations to the winners!
The competition runs from May of one year through May of the next. Several local camera clubs participate. This year (2015-16), there were four: Fall River Camera Club, PSRI, Quinebaug Valley Photography Club and Seven Hills Camera Club. The host club this year was Seven Hills Camera Club.
Here’s how the competition works. Each year in May, a predetermined list of 25 categories is presented to participating clubs. This list is gleaned from suggestions made by members of the participating clubs. Shooters can interpret the categories in any way they believe will work for competition purposes, and send their submissions to their respective club representative any time before selection night, usually the following April.
At PSRI, shooters can submit up to 3 images in each category, and can enter as few or as many categories as they like. PSRI’s Multi-screen committee pre-screens all entries for suitability, then projects the selected images at a regular Tuesday night meeting, so club members can vote to choose the final selections that will be submitted to the competition. (Only one image per category can be submitted to the inter-club competition.)
The 2016-17 Multi-screen competition is already underway. Other than your annual club membership fee, there are no additional fees involved. If you would like to participate, use this link for more information and to access the entry form.
