The Photographic Society of Rhode Island (PSRI) welcomes all photography enthusiasts regardless of expertise and type of camera equipment used – brand, digital, film, smartphone, or other emerging photographic technologies. Since 1927, PSRI is a place where photographers gather to build friendships and community; improve creativity and technical skills through presentations, workshops, meetups, and image study; learn from judges’ feedback during digital, print, and slide competitions; share our photographic artwork; and celebrate our accomplishments.

In-person presentations and competitions are also broadcast via Zoom for members that cannot travel to the meeting place. We also have Zoom only meetings where the speaker lives some distance from our meeting place. Based on our latest member survey, we will also be scheduling meetings that are suitable for in-person participation only, such as photo opportunities and meet-ups.

PSRI offers a 30-day trial membership for prospective members interested in experiencing our meetings and meetups firsthand. Trial memberships are available September through April, coinciding with our active meeting schedule. As PSRI does not hold meetings in June, July, or August, trial memberships are not offered during these months, ensuring new members receive a full and representative introduction to the club.
