One of PSRI’s favorite photographers, Mark Bowie, presenting his program on “Multiple Exposures for Maximum Landscapes”. Mark states that shooting and blending multiple exposures has revolutionized his landscape photography. Through these techniques photographers can push the bounds of what’s possible to capture with a camera, achieving results closer to how we envision them than a single exposure could, and opening opportunities for capturing “never-before-possible” images. By shooting multiple exposures in the field and combining them in-camera or in the digital darkroom, photographers can extend exposure latitude, depth of field and camera resolution. Mark will cover field techniques, equipment, and the software used to produce numerous types of multi-shot compositions.
Mark Bowie’s work has been published nationally and internationally, appearing in magazines and newspapers, on posters, calendars, greeting cards and in advertising media. He has written dozens of articles on natural history and outdoor recreation and his three books, Adirondack Waters: Spirit of the Mountains and In Stoddard’s Footsteps: The Adirondacks Then & Now and The Adirondacks: In Celebration of the Seasons. All three books have won the Adirondack Center for Writing’s Photography Book of the Year award. He is a noted specialist on nighttime photography, the author of the comprehensive e-book, The Light of Midnight: Photographing the Landscape at Night. He is an accomplished landscape and digital photography instructor and a much sought-after public speaker.
Mark also has offered to conduct a workshop on Night Photography with Light Painting on Monday, September 10th at Ninigret Park. For more information contact Karl Zuzarte at kmzphoto@gmail.com
