This year PSRI is very excited to be rolling out a brand new system for submitting digital images for our internal club competitions. It has been a long process, requiring a great deal of time and effort over this past summer. I would like to extend my thanks to Holly Trahan, Lisa Bushee, and Charlie Burke who have literally been working days, nights and weekends to get this all up and running in time for our first competition. This Tuesday night, October 9 we will be showing a live demonstration of this new system.
In order to enter competition you must be a member of the club in good standing, meaning that you must have paid your dues. You need to know what class your are in for competition. Your images have to meet certain file size requirements, and must meet height and width pixel limitations as well. Sounds complicated, but it really is not. There are several documents that will be extremely helpful for you in understanding the competition process. How to know what class you are in, how you advance in class, how to size the images are all explained in thorough detail (Note: The one key difference is that with the new digital upload system you will not need to provide the specific file name – the upload system will rename the files for you automatically). These documents can be found at the links below:
- Competition Rules
- Digital Competition Rules
Now that you have read all the rules regarding competition at PSRI you know what class you are in, and you have 2 images that are properly sized and want to submit them for competition. So what do you do? Simply click on this link to access the new digital upload system. You will be presented with the entry screen which will list the 5 competitions by date, with a list of the three competition classes underneath. An image of this screen appears below:
From here you simply click on the class and competition date that you wish to submit images for. This will bring you to the page where you actually submit your images, as shown below.
At this point you will select your name from the drop down list, and then enter your email address. Towards the bottom of the page you will see spaces where you can enter up to 4 images. 2 images are for regular competition, and the other 2 slots are for make up images (make up images are explained in the competition rules documents). Simply give the image a title, such as “Beavertail Sunrise” or “Loon in Flight” (Note: the “” quotes are not needed and I simply used them here in this article in order to emphasize that the words between the quotes are the title) and hit the Choose File button and select the file from your computer. It really is that simple!
If your images do not meet any of the size requirements you will be presented with a straightforward error message telling you what the problem is. If you encounter any errors that you are not able to solve, please contact the digital chairperson by sending an email to digital@PSRI.us. Please ensure that you include your full name and a complete description of the problem that you are encountering.

Hi Jerry,
Please send an email to digital@PSRI.us – they will work with you to determine why your name is not in the list and get things fixed for you.
