This Tuesday nights PSRI meeting is shaping up to be a great night to help you prepare for competition this year at PSRI! Each photography season PSRI hosts 5 internal photo competitions, where each member can submit two images. Images can be in either digital, print or slide format. These competitions are a great way to see the work of our members, as well as to see and hear what judges look for when selecting award winning images!
To help you prepare for competition, members will be on hand to help you take a closer look at your favorite images! In these one on one image review sessions our very own expert photographers and competition judges will review your images in a discreet, professional format. These folks will provide you with very helpful advice and suggestions on what can be done to improve your images.
Do not be intimidated! I have found that an honest image review has been as much help in improving my photography as any 10 books that I have read! While getting comments like “Nice shot”, “Great image” and “Beautiful” all make us feel good about our works of art, they really do not provide suggestsions for taking that image and taking it to that next step. These critiques will provide you with useful feedback on all aspects of photography – from the technical aspects of the capture, to the composition of the image, to the post processing of the final image – that will help you look at your images in a new “light” (pun intended!), and will help you improve your work!
Bring in a thumb drive with a bunch of your favorite digital images, or bring in some prints and lets get the ball rolling. We will also be explaining the competition process, what it means, how it works, and what you can get out of it (whether you compete or not!).
I look forward to seeing you Tuesday night at 7:30!

Hi Faith,
For the PSRI internal competitions there are no extra fee. As long as your dues ($30) have been paid you are allowed to compete in these competitions.
