On May 30, 2017, Lance Keimig will present Stars: Trails and Points- How, When, and Where at the PSRI meeting.
Lance will offer a truly stellar presentation on photographing stars in the context of Astro-Landscape photography. Topics covered will include deciding between Star Points and Star Trails, Milky Way Season. He will discuss when is the requirements for each type of star photography, gear, techniques on composition, exposure, focusing, and added lighting, along with examples of his own work.
Lance Keimig is a Plymouth, Massachusetts based photographer who is best known for night photography of the built environment. The second edition of his book, Night Photography- Finding Your Way In The Dark was published by Focal Press in July of 2015, and has been translated into 7 languages. Keimig is a partner in National Parks at Night, an organization dedicated to promoting and preserving our national parks thru photographic education.
He has taught at the New England School of Photography in Boston since 2000, the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, The Photographic Resource Center at Boston University, The Houston Center for Photography, Maine Media Workshops, and leads independent workshops across the country, and international photo tours around the world.
