One of my favorite online places to visit is Sojourns in Nature, and it’s not just for the photography. More than a website, it’s a sensory experience that tickles the eyes, the ears, and the soul in ways that tend to excite, calm, inspire, and amaze, often all at the same time. Interspersed amid stunning photography from naturalist, author, and professional nature photographer Gustav W. Verdeber and his cohort Robert Servranckx, you will find Gustav’s blog, replete with stories of past adventures and reflections on our natural world. He is a craftsman with words. Like any true artist, Gustav paints his impressions onto our hearts in memorable ways. I can easily get lost in his world, and what a world it is.

This year, from April 28-30, Gustav will be conducting a workshop for members of PSRI (and a few lucky non-members as well). This will be a rare opportunity to study Rhode Island’s natural seashore with an extraordinary naturalist. Unique images will present themselves to your camera as Gustav dives for aquatic treasures to add to tide pools. There are two spots left, so act fast if you want one of them. The cost is $250.
