Also from Mary Doo:
Do you know if any of your photographer friends is interested in a large Gitzo tripod in excellent condition? It’s a 4 series tripod that goes up to 75+ inches, has individual leg spread and a geared centre column. Very solid and can be passed on to the great grand children! I bought it new in the mid-80s for over $600 if I remember, as much as a used car. My professional photography days are over and I don’t hire assistants to carry my equipment anymore 🙂 and in the past few years, I’ve hardly used it at all. Once last year and once this year is what I remember. It’s a bargain for what I’m asking, but few people seem to know the quality of the classic Gitzo tripods.
I’ve put it on Craigslist: http://providence.craigslist.org/pho/4209904522.html

Announcement
The Fine Art Of Photography
4th Annual Juried Photography Exhibition
Plymouth Center for the Arts
The Plymouth Guild is inviting all photographers to compete in the “Fine Art of Photography” fourth annual juried photography exhibition
The Plymouth Guild, Inc., a Massachusetts 501(c) 3 non-profit organization, owns and operates The Plymouth Center for the Arts. Our art center is located in center of historic downtown Plymouth, in a beautifully restored 1902 brick library building and an attached 1735 historic home. We are about 100 steps from Plymouth Rock. Each year, the Art Center attracts thousands of visitors and as a fully volunteer staffed community art center, offers high quality art shows in juried galleries, art classes, programs in the visual and performing arts, and other community based cultural events.
In April of 2014, we will launch our fourth juried photography exhibition known as ˜The Fine Art of Photography”. For this event we dedicate the entire Art Center, all our galleries, for a month-long show to celebrate photography. Over the last three years the show has attracted almost 2,500 entries from hundreds of local, regional, and national photographers. Last year we exhibited 220 photographs from 147 artists. The Exhibition draws a heavy attendance from the opening reception through to it’s closing.
We seek to produce a show of the highest quality and are convinced that the highly qualified photographers the “camera club culture” support are a key component towards that end. We invite the members of the Photographic Society of Rhode Island to participate, and look forward to viewing their images.
Attached is a “Save the Date” announcement that we request you post to your membership. The final prospectus will be available, January 1, 2014.
Thank you,
D. Peter Collins
