Our own Cemal Ekin has announced that a joint project he proposed with the Festival Ballet Providence to combine several forms of art into a performance is coming to fruition. His images of orchid flowers are the genesis of the project, its inspiration, and features prominently in the ballet. On stage, dancers and photographs will be the main elements of this new work choreographed by Viktor Plotnikov. Local glass artist Toots Zynsky is also collaborating to add a new dimension to the dance. The ballet, Orchis, is scheduled for its premiere performance on 8-9-10 March, 2013.
