This year, the Nobel Prize in physics was awarded to two American physicists “for the invention of an imaging semiconductor circuit – the CCD sensor”. Willard S. Boyle and George E. Smith made it possible for us to enjoy the tremendous capabilities of digital photography. We owe them gratitude.
