Winterberry with Ice

Winterberry with Ice

Winter has its firm hand on New England, and it certainly is cold out there. Don’t let that stop you from making good images. There are many opportunities that can be had, both indoors and outdoors. Fresh snow or ice on pretty much anything can be a good opportunity; you don’t have to try for the grand landscape, although those are also available nearby. Photographing in the yard or in the neighborhood can yield good results. And the opportunity may be indoor; frost covered windows offer great subjects for close up images of intricate details, an changing the light or the background color may be as easy as placing a colored cardboard outside the window. Experiment. Be creative.

In addition to the outdoor possibilities, we have several top notch presentations scheduled. On 12 January, Joe LeFevre will present “Making Fine Art Nature Photographs”. Canon brings us a Lewis Kemper, a professional nature and landscape photographer on February 2, and Ray Guillette will present “The Creative Process” in March to help us explore that creativity that is within all of us.

See the Calendar page for more details.
